We are the Leighton Fun Runners running club, based in Leighton Buzzard, Beds, UK.

The championship is now in full swing with many members entering our one mile race event. Good news! You will have another chance to test your 1 mile pace with another race on July 7th. If you fancy further races, check out the fixtures list for local (Beds, herts or Bucks) 5k or longer events.

Also worth checking is the diary for July and August. The summer months allows us to introduce some variety into the runs (no more pounding pavements until the darker weather returns). As well as monthly trips to Stockgrove park, there are runs from Vandyke School and from the Alpaca farm (thanks to Jo Parker). Held for the first time, we are hoping to hold an evening of running and shopping - 30 minutes run plus a sports talk at Sweatshop Milton Keynes. Date is provisional so please check the diary or watch e-mails for confirmation. lastly, our new social secretary is busy organising more social events - we would love to see more of you at them (and you can bring partners) so check the Events page.

The committee have decided upon the club charity for 2009 - Help for Heroes. For more information on the charity, click here. Finally, all award winners are recognised in the AGM report on the Events page, which has a link to some photos.
