Lindsay Sambridge

Name: Lindsay Sambridge

Age: 40

How long have you been an LFR?

I joined LFR in October 2015 after completing the June C25K. So 6 months as a member.

Why did you join?

I joined LFR because I was struggling to commit to running after relocating and having two children. Previously I had run with a friend but since we now live in different continents and both tied up with children it's made it tricky! Not sure if it's the children or the distance that was harder!  So I decided I would be more committed if I tried the C25K, it would also make me build up slowly.

What is your most memorable running moment to date?

My most memorable run to date is doing a variation of what's called on the website Verity Vicious route. I did 8km, my furthest in 6 years on my own! Kelly recommended I try and do a bit further, so the following weekend after a club social run I did! Thanks Kelly!

Four weeks after that run I did the Leighton Buzzard 10km, in 1 hour 12 minutes (not fast for the majority but great for me), I felt great!

Describe your running style in three words?

Slow, steady, happy!

Running goal for 2016?

I have completed the Edlesborough 5km, the Leighton Buzzard 10km, and have signed up to the Chicks Chase in April. My aim is to get faster at my 5km/ 10km times before running further. Thanks LFR you are a friendly bunch who have got me running again. Running clubs are not only for the fastest runners, ‪#‎thisgirlcan
