CHARITY    Last Updated: 20 November 2007

Each year the club raises money through various events including the memorial multi-terrain 10k run in September, the London marathon entries and other social events. The money raised goes towards the annually selected club charity. The charity for 2008 is  "The Pace Centre"

"THE PACE CENTRE" Providing intensive daily programmes for children with motor disorders such as cerebral palsy. Registered Charity 1011133

What is Pace?  A family-centred organisation which provides integrated education on a daily basis for children from 6 months to 12 years. The focus is on "educating for life" and the development of each child's social emotional communication academic and motor skills of paramount importance. PACE provides a warm and loving environment and inspirational programmes in order to motivate children to work hard at achieving their goals. Children learn how they can solve problems and take responsibility for themselves.

PACE's daily timetable is inspired by the principles of Conductive Education; a system which emphasises that the growing child develops as a whole and therefore requires an educational environment where all their individual needs are addressed using a holistic approach. The carefully planned sequence of activities in the daily routine at PACE meets the need of the whole child.
