Start/Finish: Cedars Playing Field

Race Start Time: 09:30 – 10:30

Registration: Numbers and timing chips must be collected on the day from 08:15 from the Registration Desk located in the Sports Pavilion. Chips need to be attached to runner’s shoes – full instructions will be provided.

Medical Disclosure: For your own safety, you must complete the medical information form on the reverse of your race number.

Race Number: This must be carefully secured to the front of your vest with four safety pins. It is your responsibility to ensure that you arrive at the finish with the number in tact – no number will mean no official finish time. If you have somebody else’s number on without informing us in advance the results will be affected and you will be disqualified, so please let us know in advance.

Baggage: A baggage drop will be available from 08:15 in the Sports Pavilion.

Facilities: Ample toilets and changing rooms are available. All finishers will receive a medal.

Photos: Photographers will be out on the course and photos will be available to download after the event for a small fee that will go to our Club Charity.

Course: This is a one lap multi terrain course along towpaths, trails, paths and across playing fields. For a map of the course please visit the Leighton Fun Runners website. Due to the multi terrain this course is not suitable for wheelchair users or pushchairs. Runners are required to complete the course in 60mins – runners who go over this time will be asked to leave the course and will not receive an official time. Km markers will be placed on the course. As the course is open to pedestrians the use of iPod/ MP3/other media devices is not allowed.

Results: Results will be published on the LFR website and available to print off at the finish.

Parking: Parking is available at Cedars Upper School. On entry to the school please stay on the main road and do not park in the Leisure Centre carpark. Marshals will be on hand to direct you to race parking.

Refreshments: Tea, Coffee and Cake will be available in return for a small donation and all money raised will go towards the Club Charity – Willen Hospice

Route starts in Cedars playing field:

1 Single loop of field – exit onto canal

2 Loop around Tiddenfoot Waterside Park

3 Over green bridge

4 Through park onto Mentmore Road

5 Through the pit straight down to canal

6 Back onto canal

 

HQ

The hall at Cedars will be used for HQ providing:

  • Registration
  • Bag drop
  • Toilets
  • Refreshments
  • First Aid – St Johns Ambulance

 

Marshals

Marshals will be used throughout the course at key points. These include:

  • Junctions
  • Heavy flow of traffic
  • Areas used by pedestrians

 

Results

Chip timing will be used.

 

Course Set Up

Course signage will be setup on the morning of the run and cleared as the tail runner comes through the course. All signage will be temporary and no permanent marks will be left.
